Atomic Tom, one of our favorite bands, made this amazing video which has rapidly been going viral today through tech blogs and social media.

After some assholes steal their instruments, Atomic Tom has to improvise. Using only their iPhones, this Brooklyn-based rock band rocks the hell out of their single, “Take Me Out.” Their clever video is entertaining, hilarious, and catchy; it’ll be interesting to see how quickly it will spread over the net. Anyone smell an iPhone commercial opp? Some recent posts include:

So I just bought my ticket to the New York round of this EPIC design battle.

I’ve been watching to see if Cut & Paste NYC would fit in my schedule over the last couple of months and tweeting about the event regularly as well because I think it’s just that cool a conduit of creative minds. Today, I asked a friend if I could crash on their couch for it and they insisted on joining in the Digital Design Tournament viewing fun!

(I love it when that happens!)

On September 4, a film whose promotion I’ve put a lot of myself into premiere’s at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, Georgia and online. It’s been one of my favorite volunteer projects of all time; I have learned so much from the project and everyone involved.

It’s going to be uniquely awesome moment when we hit play in Atlanta because the whole production has been uniquely crowdsourced under a nonprofit entity and will benefit 5 charities supported by the original cast of Firefly / Serenity. I pass along for your viewing pleasure the trailer for Browncoats: Redemption:

It’s been an honor to be a part of the promotion surrounding this film. It’s been an honor to meet the people who made it actually come together and literally feel their excitement at every turn. They are people who have done something amazingly innovative and I have gotten to know them for the great humans they are and the greater ones they endeavor to be.

I am lucky.

We have a much longer journey ahead to reach our goal of 32,000 donations for DVDs. I hope you will partake in the moment that we have been so very much looking forward to on September 4th at 7PM eastern daylight time by watching the film via live stream at http://BrowncoatsMovie.com and donating to the charities in exchange for a copy of the DVD. Today the Tax Foundation released it’s 2010 Tax Freedom Day report.

Tax Freedom Day is the number of days that it will take the average person to pay their federal liability (not including deficits)- functionally, working for the government. This year’s Tax Freedom Day falls on April 9, 2010.

The Tax Foundation also announced the Tax Freedom Day by state in its full report.
